Idiom, phrase or what

A cross child is not liked.

Please somebody tell me if it is an idiom, phrase or an ambiguous sentence. Couldn't find it on Google.

Thanks

Hi It's not an idiom that I recognize It's not that difficult to make up something that sounds like a wise saying: "A pound of pebbles weighs the same as a pound of salt" I think your sentence falls into that category - the writer may have something interesting to say about an unhappy child or maybe they don't have much to say and they've dressed it up Unless someone can come up with a reference, I'd say that's just something that someone's made up Dave

A cross child is a child that has a bad temper, throw fits and screams and cries a lot.

It is not an idiom. It is common usage in American English.
