Vocabulary

idiom on value

Hi all

In my own language, which is Dutch, there is an expression that defines 'value' in a funny way, yet straight to the point. I'm sure there must be a similar expression in English. The expression goes:

"Something is worth what a fool will give (pay) for it".

Would any of you know the proper English expression?

thanks, mike

I can't think of anything that relates to something's value exactly, but something similar is: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Which means that everybody has a different idea of what beauty (possibly value) is.
