Idiom mania

This piece of write is teemed with idiom that I have learnt recently. Please see if I have used the idioms correctly.

I used to use my school's printer behind my school administration's back. But yesterday my head teacher caught me red handed and jump down my throat. She said, "If the administration come to know about this, your head will roll.I felt it was a real kick in teeth. I was too ashamed to say anything. I was quite as a mouse I came out of the room with a heavy heart. One of my colleagues saw me and asked me that what happened. I'm not the kind of persons who washes their dirty linen in public so, I just said, "Nothing to write home about." She said that obviously something worst had happened for it was written all our my face. I refused to tell her anything. She kept insisting but I dug my heels in and didn't let the cat out of the bag by biting my tongue. Meanwhile, my best friend entered the room and she took to her heels. She first sit beside me ignoring me. But when she felt that I was not going to say anything she started staring at me. I was still quite as a mouse. When she felt that I was not going to talk with her. At last she said, "Will you spill the beans out yourselves or I give you a knuckle sandwich." I said that nothing to write home about. When she saw that all of her tricks were like water off a duck's back.
