idiom help

I want to write a sentence to say someone has no choice in a matter

( for example: You have to do it even if you don't want to. or You have to accept the law even if you don't like it.).

Is there an idiom or something that means something like this?

Hi, I suggest Needs must when the Devil drives , which today is usually used in the abbreviated form If needs must . I believe this is derived from Shakespeare ("He must needs go that the Devil drives"), but this may in turn have been based on something earlier. Best wishes, Clive

How about something like...his hands were tied. He had no choice in the matter.
