Idiom: for all intents and purposes

Hi guys,

I can't sort out this idiom inside my head. Of course, I checked the definition at my favourite portal , but what does it mean "in all practical sense"? May I translate it as in all aspects?

again, thanks in advance

Best Regards

Yes, but practicality is also in the meaning. It is not every possible outrageous aspect, but only all the practical ones.
