Idiom: Depend upon it...

Hi

I have often seen the idiom 'depend upon it' in Jane Austen's novels, especially as a colloquial phrase. I want to know if the idiom still exists and hasn't lost its popularity (journeying through the intricate mazes of the last two centuries.)

Depend up it = you can be certain

Thanks,
