Identifying catenative verbs

A guy on a youtube video said that catenative verbs cant be put in passive form like others verbs . Is this true? he said that this is one of the ways to identify them, can someone tell me others way to do so?

Please provide a link to the video. Without that we have no idea what "like other verbs" means. Catenative constructions contain two verbs, and in some cases you can passivize either verb, so I don't see why that "guy" is saying you can't passivize catenative constructions.

I expect the doctor to examine John.
