"Identify the positive or negative effects that science has on food."

Science has improved our lives in a multitude of ways, particularly genetically engineered creatures (GMO foods). Due to their unique advantages, genetically modified foods have recently become immensely popular. People are becoming increasingly interested in how food science might improve the nutritional value of their meals as a result of advances in the field. The benefits of GMO foods will be discussed in this report.

To begin, one of the positives of the modified crop is adaptability, which provides the crops with greater health against bad environmental conditions and unforeseen illnesses. For example, crops that have been genetically engineered to be drought-resistant can endure extended hot weather and grow better under drought conditions than the original genes. . In fact, Insecticidal genes have been added to GM cotton, making it more resistant to pests, according to a study. Insecticides are also used less often with transgenic cotton. GMOs have helped to minimize pesticide use while also increasing agricultural yields. As a result, greater crop health can withstand the harshest conditions and mitigate the repercussions of crop losses. Moreover, similar to crops, genetically engineered animals are expected to have higher disease resistance and a longer life cycle. As a reason, they may generate not only more eggs, milk, and meat, but also increased productivity and profitability for farmers.

Nevertheless, there is compelling evidence that GMO crops contain more nutritional compounds than many researchers believe. This is due to scientists adding a few particular minerals and vitamins to the seeds in order to increase the nutrition in the meal. GMOs gained popularity as a consequence since they provide consumers with a variety of tasty fruits, a novel flavor of food, and important nutrients for their health. For example, a new variety of fruit called "Red Kiwifruit," which is a cross between a raspberry and a kiwi, has been authorized in New Zealand and America because it has an excellent supply of antioxidants that can assist our bodies to fight radical damage and cancer. Therefore, some experts believe that the modified fruit can give more vitamins than the conventional fruit after a number of studies have been conducted

According to the two primary benefits listed above, the usefulness of science in the food industry cannot be denied. It is possible for farmers and consumers to profit from more nutrient-dense crops, animals, and food products. There is no doubt in my mind that science has given us a better life than before. In many supermarkets, people may now purchase GM foods that are dependable and safe. Food science could have a huge impact on the diets of many people in the future.
