Identify the manner by which each of the following paragraphs is developed, i.e., whether it is by definition, description, narration, cause and effect, classification, comparison and contrast, or process analysis.
Application letters are of two kinds: the solicited and the unsolicited letter. The former is an answer to a printed or a broadcast advertisement for a job. This being the case, the applicant is sure that a vacancy exists and knows whether or not he meets the requirements which are stipulated in the advertisement before he writes the letter. The latter is written to a firm which had not advertised. The letter is written, anyway, with the hope that an opening exists; however, since the writer is not sure of the nature and requirements of the job, he mentions all his outstanding qualifications and leaves the firm the task of determining his acceptability as well as the job in which he will most likely excel.
