The mad woman was cursing everybody passing her on the road. What is the error?

I'd expect "madwoman", and I'll bet they want "cursing everybody who passed her on the road." I do not think that there is any other error than the spelling, though.

The present participle phrases are usually suspect, but in the case I think madwoman (a female lunatic) is needed rather than an angry (mad) woman....
