In 2010, though Stokeford became a completely residential area, many changes concerned its road, which made me have difficulty tackling this task.

The two maps of the village of Stokeford as it was in 1930 and in 2010 depict the multifarious changes that occurred between these two years.

Overall, during the period in question, Stokeford underwent significant changes concerning its population and size. By 2010, houses had been constructed in many parts of the village, the primary school enlarged, the large house with gardens converted into a retirement home, and the shops removed. There were only two unchanged features: the post office and the bridge.

In 1930, farmland took a large part of the village and was bounded to the west by the River Stroke, to the north-east of which was a bridge. There were houses, a post office, and shops in the center that ran north and south parallel to the river. To the west of the village lay a primary school adjacent to a large house with gardens.

Eighty years later, farmland was gone to make way for new houses. New roads were built and connected with the main one. The country home was transformed into a retirement home, with the garden area being narrowed. The primary school was significantly expanded to cater to the need of Stokeford's large population. In the center of the village still lay the post office but no shops. Also, the bridge across the River Stroke remained unaltered.
