Strikes by students are far more common in Italy than in other countries They go on strike every year in protest against both national and local issues. The former includes educational reforms and the latter include classroom air-conditioning.

Their ways of protest vary. For example,they hold nationwide strikes,march in the street,take over school buildings,hold meetings,and try to manage schools.

Students have different opinions about strikes. The majority of them regard them as an effective way to let others know what they feel. In contrast,some students are against them because they view strikers as those who cause trouble,want to be a politician,or are taken advantage of by outside forces.

Recently,a group of students caused a lot of trouble when they marched to a non-striking school. They behave violently and upset the teachers and students there.

Unlike students in Italy,those in other countries are not permitted to go on strike,and if they break the rule,they are severely punished.

Strangely enough,fewer school hours due to strikes don’t affect their level of intelligence and knowledge negatively. They are in fact no less intelligent or knowledgeable than those in other countries. This result shows that there might be something that is worth learning from how students in Italy study.
