hi all , just read above expression , instead of using accept an offer, the text used -I'd like to take you up on your offer about staying at your apartment. . . . -

i found some examples:

1 take sb up -------when challenge someone's opinion
i'll take you up on that point/ matter

2 take sb up ------- to accept an offer

i'll take you up on a cup of coffee
i'll take you up on a ride
