Iambic Pentameter Help

Hello all. I'm trying to write 10 verses in iambic pentameter and I am having some difficulty. If someone could help, I would appreciate it.

This is what I have so far. I don't think it's any good, but that's up to you

The world has infinite promise for us
To love and lose is now in our sight
Those who try and fail to gain God's trust
Fall into the ever-growing Night.

None of your lines is in iambic pentameter. The metre has to be di DAH di DAH di DAH di DAH di DAH like this: 'When I do count the clock that tells the time ' (Shakespeare) Click here to read earlier threads on the topic.

The meter is off in all four lines, and the way to fix it is by changing the word order (varying the word order is fundamental in writing iambic pentameter) and adding or deleting some words. For example:

The ^world has ^lost its ^promi^nence for ^us
and ^won't re^gain it ^ever ^in our ^lives.
To ^live but ^naught for ^proven^der's en^ough,
for ^some, but ^not for ^those with

You can create iambs by changing the word order.
To create exactly five on each line,
you have to add an unstressed syllable to line 3 (i used 'all')
and change 'fall' to 'are thrown' in line 4

The world for us infinite promise has,
To love and lose is now our sight within,
All those who try and fail ***'s trust to gain
Into the ever-growing Night are thrown.
