Iambic Pentameter

I am new to poetry and would really appreciate some help if anyone could give it. I would like to attempt to learn and become proficient in Iambic Pentameter. If someone could give me at least the basics of what i need to know about iambic pentameter. Especially if someone could help me with stressed and unstressed syllables. I understand the concept of what i am trying to do here, but i have trouble with recognizing what syllables are stressed or not. So if someone has anything that could help me that would be wonderful.
