I wrote this paragraph. Is it correct?

We Filipinos work hard for our country’s future. Thus, we can be good leaders through reading and writing. We can be resourceful, objective, and dedicated – characteristics that future leaders, like us, must have. We love natural resources, and we have inherited this attribute from Indonesia. We promote tourism to sustain our country’s economic development. Years pass by, but our country now remains totally free from invaders, like Thailand, known as the “land of the free.” Since we tasted freedom, our government has been built on a solid foundation.
