I would prefer that + subjective

Hi,
I am wondering about the right form among the following ones

1. I would prefer that he came
2. I would prefer that he come(s)

Searching in internet I saw that they seem both acceptable which makes me a bit confused.

At the same time I know that i could even express the concept this way

3. I would prefer him to come

and I am aware that probably this is the best solution. But what about if i want to express the concept using "i would prefer that..."?
If they are both acceptable, is there a difference in the meaning?

I am also wondering about the form to be used with "be"

ex.

1. I would prefer that he were rich
2. I would prefer that he be rich

Assuming that the second is fin, even if awkward, can i say (not in a polite way)

3. I would prefer that he is rich

???

Thanks!

You mean "subjunctive". The subjunctive is in varying stages of moribundity around the world. I will answer for myself and my dialect: Ptodts I am wondering about the right form among the following ones1.

Ptodts"would like"... Can I assume the same rules for this verb too?
No. The usage is different. For example, you can say "I prefer that he come", but you can't say "I would like that he come." With "like" it becomes "I would like him to come" or "I would like it if he came."
