"I would like to become the greatest artist on the earth."

"I would like to become the greatest artist on the earth."

I heard that when "earth" mean "planet" where we live, it should be "on earth" or "on Earth" or all ways are fine to use to mean "the planet earth"? And even native English speakers might have different usage and opinions about the word earth?

What do you native English speakers think?

Thank you so much in advance.
