Now, Mr. Carr, I would be lying if I said anything
other than "you have the right to remain silent.

It is a strange sentence. What he says is this:

If he said "The sky is blue." then that would be a lie.

If he said "You are a human being." then that would be a lie.

Everything he says is a lie except the sentences that are in the quote marks.
