I would ask

Hello,

What tense should follow I would ask that...?
For example,

a) I would ask that you followed the company policy.
b) I would ask that you would follow the company policy.
c) I would ask that you will follow the company polilcy.

To me, c) sounds wrong, a) sounds correct, and b) I'm not sure.
Can you please help me?

Thank you.

" That "follow" is subjunctive, but it doesn't matter this time since it looks the same as the indicative.

In American English, it is "I would ask that you follow the company policy." That "follow" is subjunctive, but it doesn't matter this time since it looks the same as the indicative.

Oh, okay.

So, if the subjunctive is the correct tense here, [...] that you should follow the company policy should also be acceptable, perhaps in BrE. Correct?

That would be my guess, too, but I can't say for sure, being non-British.
