Topic: Some people think that the teenage years are the happiest times of most people’s lives. Others think that adult life brings more happiness in spite of greater responsibilities. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Every person experiences diverse types of joy and sorrow throughout different stages of their lives. However, people remain divided over whether the teenage phase or adult years bring them the most happiness. While I agree that the former plays an indispensable role in every human’s life, I personally contend that the latter is filled with more satisfaction, irrespective of a great sense of responsibility.
On the one hand, it is widely acclaimed by a plethora of individuals that the teenage phase is the happiest stage of their lives. Life is amazingly feasible to be embraced in the arms of families, with newly-cooked meals already set on the tables and the academic results are the only things to concern them. At this age, youngsters live a young-and-reckless life, with the ambition to purchase their wildest dreams and the quality time spent with their peers. Anyway, most events during this period are prone to be interfered with by their parents as juveniles are supposed to be too young to make lucid decisions.
On the other hand, some people assume that their lives bloom at the same time they reach adulthood as their definition of happiness is personal freedom. Obviously, to be a grown-up person means having dependence in various ways. First of all, they are financially independent of their families and free to do anything without the need of asking for anyone’s permission. For instance, purchasing a costly full set of gaming gear that they could not afford during their childhood. Secondly, there are some kinds of happiness that can only be felt when people reach their maturities such as a sense of achievement in their career or the day they are married to the love of their lives. Therefore, those moments of bliss fade away the sense of responsibility they have to handle as they grow older.
In conclusion, despite the fact that some people have a yearning for the past, I contend that the adult privilege makes my life unparalleled.
