Hi there! Could you tell me if the following sentence is right?

I wonder what it is the link between his childhood experiences and his present behaviour.

Is the use of "it" here right and natural in English?

Thanks

Hi Clive,

Then, what should I use:

I wonder what is the link between his childhood experiences and his present behaviour.
I wonder what the link between his childhood experiences and his present behaviour is.

Hi,

Neither is wrong, although I prefer the second.

Actually, I'd probably say

I wonder what the link is, between his childhood experiences and his present behaviour.

I don't like to put 'is' such a long way from 'link'.

Clive.
