I wish she had come / would have come.

We really missed Tina at the reception.
I did too. I wish she ..... .

A. came
B. had come
C. would have come

I can safely rule out option A, but both B and C look good to me - any help with deciding which one is correct and why would be greatly appreciated! (This is taken off a practice sheet for a grading test.)

Thanks in advance,
Santhe

Hi, Tina's coming is a one-time action that didn't happen in the past. You want to regret it. You should use the past perfect: I wish she had come to the reception.
