I wish ....

Hello,

I'm doing a revision exericise and I got stuck at one sentence.

"I’m worried about Robert. I wish he …………………… us where he goes in the evenings."

a) tell b) will tell c) would tell

Since there is no "told", I have no idea what to put in the gap. Probably "would tell" but I don't know why.

Can you help me on this, please?

Thank you

You need a past tense form after wish, so only would tell works. (It suggests that he is unwilling to tell them.)
