I will really appreciate it

Hi,

A person wrote me in an email that he would come to me with an answer the next day and I replied: I will really appreciate it.

I was told people would take that as me being sarcastic and that it didn't look professional. Is that correct?

Thanks a lot.

I cannot see that it is sarcastic, but the grammar is wrong. You should have replied, 'I would really appreciate it'. Still, someone could have misconstrued your feelings (that is easy to do in emails), so it would be safer to just reply, 'Thank you'.

More natural is I really appreciate it, because you appreciate his offer right now.
