"I will be picking back up my running routine."

Hi all

I am aware the phrase "pick it back up" means you are doing something which you had stopped doing. Could I say "I have not gone for a run in the past week but I will be picking back up my running routine" ? This sounds a bit unnatural to me and I would appreciate if you could give me some pointers.

Thank you.

Best regards
PBF
