I was Wondering

Hi Teachers,

Could you tell me which one is correct?

I was wondering if I have a meeting next week?
or
I was wondering if I will have a meeting next week?

Top answer

The second doesn't sound very natural to me, even though it would convey the same meaning as the first. Perhaps more common is I was wondering if I had a meeting next week , but I think the sequence of tenses is not really correct.
