I was swimming at the beach/ in the sea.

Hi teacher!

As a non native speaker of Enhlish, #1 sounds odd to me. I wonder how you native speakers say and how the each sentence is different in meaning from the others.

1. I was swimming at the beach

2. I was swimming in the sea.

3. I was swimming at the seaside. (?)

4. I was swimming in the pool at the hotel.

5. I was swimming at the hotel. (?)

As always, many thanks native teachers ??
