"I was not interested in you from the beginning."

"I was not interested in you from the beginning."

Is the sentence natural or correct to use or present perfect tense is more natural to use like

'I have not been interested in you since the beginning'?

What do you native English speakers think?

Thank you so much as usual in advance.
