i want to use correctly "the more.. the more.." usage
Hi! thank you for your reading in advance.
i just want to use the more.. the more.. usage, but i don't know exactly how to use.
for example..
the more people stay in youth-hostel, the price would be the less.
the more people play soccer together, the more it is interesting.
are these correct?? if not, how to use instead?
please help

Hi. Not really sure I've got your question but I don't see how to use the expressions you have listed in the way you want to. I think you mean, "the more the merrier" as in the more people who partake in an activity the more enjoyable it will be.

- However, you can't use this same expression in your first example as it's economies of scale you are talking about, so you'd probably say something like, "The larger the group staying at the youth-hostel, the better the rate".

Not really sure I've got your question but I don't see how to use the expressions you have listed in the way you want to. I think you mean, "the more the merrier" as in the more people who partake in an activity the more enjoyable it will be.
