I want to teach my child

Hello

My child is 'slow learner', though he is good at english and sometimes he surprises me, but at times I get confused, which way I should teach him the grammer so he can understand very well. e.g. how do I teach him the difference in using : their/there, hear/here, etc.

I am from India, and I am hook, line.sinker for this site, just too good.........

with love

I would say that children learn faster by doing things they are interested in: by watching their favourite film in English, by playing their playstation or gameboy games in English, by reading in English. Computer games also interest them. As far as grammar, as many games as possible, combined with some grammar rules and vocab. They also like singing and listening to songs.

They only see a game, though behind it there is actually some type of logical learning process. Child Psychology is not one of my strengths, though from personal experiences, Games produce very good results, and best of all they enjoy them.

Hi Sur, I hope this isn't too much, but I felt it might help:

I did a "little" Child Psychology, it depends what you mean by 'slow learner'. Regardless, the advice of Maj and Woodward falls along most currently adopted theories.

You should exercise patience, that can be tough on you, and take things at his/her own pace. Celebrate achievements and don't focus on failures too mu
