enkidu I render grace to *** that it has pleased him to make me alone the first observer of an admirable thing kept hidden all these ages. " Galileo is thanking *** for allowing him (Galileo) to be the first to see what he discovered. " is just a way of saying that *** chose Galileo to make the observations.

  • enkidu I render grace to *** that it has pleased him to make me alone the first observer of an admirable thing kept hidden all these ages.
  • " Galileo is thanking *** for allowing him (Galileo) to be the first to see what he discovered.
  • " is just a way of saying that *** chose Galileo to make the observations.
  • " but it wouldn't have the same poetry.
