I want to improve my teaching

Hi everyone;

I've recently started to teach English. I'm graduated from Computer Engineering, but my skill at English let me to teach English for some variety in life. Since I think I don't have any academic knowledege about a foreign language teaching, can you introduce some books to earn such knowledge?
What I'm doing at classes is based on my own experience at learning English. I want to learn some different ways of encouraging students and motivating them to learn English.
Generally my student think in traditional way of laguage learning. They mostly expect grammer to be tought while I emphasis on listening and speaking. If I had refrences to what I'm doing they will be more convinced to my methods, I think. So I'm looking for some refrences.
