I want to apply for Master in public policy and governance and want to write support letter

Governance is very new but flourishing term in Pakistan, to meet emerging needs for good governance in Pakistan. I am professionally looking my career in governance and public policy within government and social development sectors of Pakistan. After graduating, my first priority will be to work in any capacity with Government or it’s any other statutory organs. Moreover I would see myself as public policy advisor and researcher to provide technical support to Government bodies, agencies, departments, NGOs, CBOs, and also my focus will be on providing guidance and training to the future policy makers.
Historically if we analyze the public policies and governance structures in Pakistan, we still find the traces of centuries old laws, policies of colonial era that should have been changed to cater the modern day needs. Secondly Poor governance is due to politicization of institution, lack of public sector management knowledge, lack of accountability, misuse of authority or power and these are the root causes of corruption in our society. Poor governance doomed every sector of our country, every institution deemed as sick unit and its capacity to deliver is reduced and further burden the economy. Elite of country use money and power to simplify these polices, laws, rules and can amend at there will but general public is the worst sufferer of these loopholes in governance and old public policies.
In above scenario, well qualified person in public policy and governance with international exposure will be considered as blessing for general public of Pakistan. I intended to return my country as a contributor to public policy and good governance and will work with related government agencies, bodies to improve the governance structures, formulation of people friendly mechanisms, policies based on our social, political and cultural needs that can address issues without corrupting the systems.
Blend of relevant education and experience makes me an ideal candidate for this program. My education in management and administration along with rich working experience with government, NGOs, International donors and affiliation with volunteer associations strongly endorses me for this program. I started my career as intern with provincial government of Sindh Province of Pakistan which helped me to understand the government working mechanisms, provincial and federal government policies, governance structures and how different organs of government functioning together. This opportunity provided exposure to learn about public management, policies and their implementation. Subsequent to my completion of one year internship I continue my career in social development sector by joining an NGO. In social development sector am exposed to range of learning’s specially working for people at grass route level with support of International donors and government bodies, managing different programs of public interests. In development sector I got a real chance to raise and advocate the public issues at policy level through seminars, events, dialogues and consultations. I was remained the part of various policy dialogues and consultations to provide input for national policy making i.e. Youth policy of Pakistan, corruption mitigation strategies.
I am very optimistic and have a “can attitude”, don’t fear from challenges and I like one thing about myself that’s self believe. I know I can make a difference because I am working with people for the people so when you work with people for their development you have always great margin to make a difference. I am good social and resource mobiliser with good motivational skills that’s makes me a true leader to lead a public interest projects.
In my professional career I led few teams in short assignments and programs including: Pakistan’s Youth delegation to attend Young Global Green congress Berlin Germany 2010, Fund Raising for special children, and social action project team in Active citizen program, Negotiations with Ministry of Youth Affairs for youth projects, spare a Saturday campaign, implementation of economic development and youth empowerment projects in various parts of Pakistan.
