I took the answer correct

Hi

I've often heard teachers use the following sentences casually. Could you please tell me if they sound correct and natural to native ears?
1) I took the answer correct.
...the context is: [Keeping the students' level in mind, I took the answer correct.]
2) I did not take the answer as correct.
Thanks,

Tom
