'I thought you were attractive.' vs 'I thought you are attractive.'

Hi.

Can I use 'I thought you are attractive.' when I "still" find him/her attractive?

I think I can use it but which is correct or better?

Maybe I'd better say,

'I thought you were attractive. Still I think you are attractive.' ?

No. The verb 'think' too strongly—more strongly than any other verb like 'believe', 'say' or even 'tell', I feel— attracts regression by the subordinate verb.

To me, that is a bit insulting, because I expect the next word to be "but..."

When I first met you, I was taken / enchanted / impressed by your good looks, and you haven't changed one bit.
