I thought you are another person

Hey,

If i want to apologize to somebody that i thought he is another person

is it true to say:

Sorry,I just thought you are another person???

or I mixed between you and another person?

I would say either: Sorry, I thought you were somebody else or sorry, I confused you with somebody else.
