Grammar

I thought and I didn't think

Hi all,

Is there any difference between these two sentences?

a. I thought she didn't have a kid
b. I didn't think she had a kid

Am I using the right grammar? The fact is she has a kid but I didn't know that. Thanks a lot

They are both correct, if you put a period at the end of each. The second is more usual, I guess. The first would be used under certain conditions.

Hello, lawn2llawn2:

Last month, we had a similar thread on EnglishForward.

I am not intelligent enough to know how to link, so may I suggest that you google these words:

English Forums I Don't Think Yiduo

I think that you may find the thread helpful.

Thanks a lot James. First I thought you typed it wrong (Yiduo didn't make sense to me). But yeah, I found it, Thanks.
