I thought

HI

I can't remember what the difference is between these sentences

- I thought you'd go to that place

- I though you'd gone-been to that place

Top answer

1) I had it in mind that you might go there (we don't know if you did or not). 2) I had it in mind that you had already gone or been there (we still don't know if you did or not). Sorry to use the same tenses in my explanation.

I didn't get it......could it be that they both describe a situation in which the plan or what we believed has changed?I think the first sentence is more present-like and the second one instead is more past-like to describe past events?

I'll try to be specific on what I mean.....I'll have this conversation

Jim(he calls a friend)- where are you now?

Ray- I'm home plannin
