I think it is a suitable time to restate my passion

Hi,

Background:
After the interview, I have no reply.
So, I send the firm an email to tell them I am still interested in the firm.

Question:
Is "restate" a suitable word?

Sentence:
It is 8 days after the interview, so I think it is a suitable time to restate my passion to work for your company and follow up the application.

Thanks

Grammatically, it's fine. I'm not sure that "passion" is a better word than "interest".

I'm sorry to have to tell you that if you have heard nothing eight days after the interview your services are not required.

Don't waste your time. Try again somewhere else.

I am sorry to say that I regretfully agree with Rover_KE on this one.
