I think I misread your name

Hi

Do you find the following conversation natural, especially the yellow and underlined parts? Any suggestions are welcome.

[On cell phones]

Mary - Hi, Tom!

Tim - Not Tom, dear; it's Tim.

Mary - Oh, I'm sorry - I misread your name. Well, you know my cell's screen has become very hazy.

Thanks,

Tom

Sound fine to me. Cell is American rather than British English (just to make you aware). I would say mobile.

Thats fine and natural for me. I have seen many of you posts. Is it BrE you would prefer or AME?

I prefer both, Dave. I'm non-native speaker of English, and I'm ready to welcome suggestions from both British and American teachers.
