I should go walking, but haven't been able to

Hi

A medical representative is conversing with an acquaintance and explaining why he is unable to go walking (exercise) on a daily basis. He says something like..

I, too, thought I should go walking, but haven't been able to. Because, by the time I meet all the doctors, I return home quite late at night.

Are these sentences framed correctly?

Please help

Thank you
