Hi CB and Jackson, just additionally... I've learned that "where you come from" and "where you are coming from" mean completely different things. I wonder if Jackson has in mind the latter...

I see where you are coming from - meaning 'I understand you' is used only in this tense form. (Also: I see where you were coming from)

Please also note that there is no comma in "I see where you're coming from".
