I remember or I am remembering

Hi:

I've got some doubts about the word "remember". In English, it cannot be used in continuous tenses, for example, saying "I am remembering her name" would be considered wrong. Right?

We can say: I remember her name. But what would you say if you wanted to put it in continuous tenses, please? Do you use another word in this kind of situation?

Another thing is: How is the word "memorise" different from the word "remember"? Can we say "I am memorising her name."?

Thank you!
