I read this, do you understand

Kerr quickly made clear that his adamancy is not rooted in some 1972 Miami Dolphins-style pop-the-champagne bravado that annually celebrates the continuance of a legacy upon the present failures of others.

Is this sentence clear?
Is 'adamancy' a word?
Would you replace upon with 'because of'?

Thanks

Not really. I'm as big a fan of the NFL as you may find here, but I have no idea what you mean. What is Kerr adamant about?

  • Technically, you would need hyphens between 1972-Miami-Dolphins-style, which is hideous.

Technically, you would need hyphens between 1972-Miami-Dolphins-style, which is hideous. You could try quotes instead: in some "1972 Miami Dolphins style, pop the champagne" bravado. Also not great.
