I or Me in this sentence

I'm having difficulty with this as there are multiple verbs and pronouns. Could anyone help me with this and possibly explain their reasoning? Thanks

" I'm sorry to disappoint, but Stephen, Tom, and I discussed the situation and agreed that we cannot spare any more time to discuss this issue."

Is it appropriate to use "and I," or should it be "and me"?

You need 'I'. If you put it the other way round, I don't think you'd consider saying ' Me discussed the situation with Stephen and Tom'.
