I or Me

Hi guys, please help me out with this question:

"He is taller than I by a head"
"He is older than I."

Can I replace "I" with "me"?

Hi,
As they stand, both your sentences are correct English even without adding the auxiliary verb ‘am’.
However, it is merely that ‘I’ is usually substituted for ‘me’ on formal occasions, and your
sentences are almost unlikely to be said in ordinary speech. They may sound very stilted to
speakers who are not adept at speaking in an old-fashioned manner.
