'I' or 'Me'?

I posted this one another forum, " Everybody who posted in this thread before I are what the last three people said," and somebody soon said that that doesn't sound right another said I was wrong when I said "Either 'me' or 'I' would work for the sentence." Am I right, or does just 'me' work?

use "me" in the above sentence. "I" can work if you write "Everybody who posted in this thread before I did..."
