I never won at Austin...
...but my good friend did, best in the sci fi category.
He's crediting me for giving him good advice early on (advice he didn't always believe until famous producers met w/him and told him the same things!).
I'm very proud of him and his writing partner. 12 drafts, only two fewer than it took to create The Sixth Sense
For about ten minutes I felt like Salieri, but now I'm just really proud of him. He has a much better sense of pop culture than I do, acres more ideas from his camera-wielding days, and he DID THE WORK.
Me, I'm lost in work on a novel & working out 8 hours a week (to save my knee so far it's working!) & the day job. But if I ever figure out how to fix that gay cowboy story...it's almost time for another one!
