I never knew that she is going to be my wife?

Is the sentence "I never knew that she is going to be my wife" correct? Shouldn't it be "I never knew that she WAS going to be my wife"?

In the sentence "I knew she was my wife" and "I knew she is my wife" which is correct? Please help! Anyone cares to explain??
